Check out this cool video my Partner Daze rock put together of the production we did a while back. Still my favorite so far…
#13 Silver Sunday
My partner Style and I linked up with Angel Once (the angry Elephant) and rocked this metal wall. I used to hate on corrugated metal, but I enjoyed this one. The lines look wavy close up but. when you step back they kinda manically straighten out. Painting on a larger scale helps I think. Definitely down to rock more corrugated surfaces.
The Journey to #12
This was one of those trips where its more about the journey itself than the act of painting a piece. Another one of those spots my partner Stelo and I found 8 years back, put on our list, and always talked about, but for various reasons never returned to until now. We banged out our pieces in less than an hour and spent more time exploring the area and putting a couple more spots on the list for the future. Lets just say the future looks bright for this area. The dopest part of this trip for me was finding the lucky horny toad though. I have only found 2 others in my life and I’m always looking. We took pics of it and put it back where we found it.
#11 One for the Road
# 10 for lady Sasi
Rocked this one the day after Valentines day, A dedication piece to Sasi. This one was fun. My partner Daze Roc showed up and helped out with the background and glowing Force field. This spot was up on a rooftop of a business that is closing shop. There was a team of tweakers up there collecting up a bunch of scrap metal the whole time. Interesting. Here’s some pics of the initial sketch piece and then colored sketch.
#9 Plan B in LA
I Went up to LA to paint a spot, but once I got there the gate to where I was supposed to pant was locked. I hit up Trixter for a lead on another spot to get on, and he came through with this dope little alley spot. He sent me a text with the address and went over and started painting. The wall was small but that’s par for the course out here in Cali. Just as I was finishing up Trixter showed up and we chopped it up for a bit before I hit the road back down south. Thanks for coming through in the pinch homie!
#8 Rained on, but Marines are amphibious…
This is a cool spot that old school Lord, Sleep put me onto. I was trying to do a little something different with the Z, but I didn’t really get it quite shaped the way I wanted. The rain was coming down pretty good, but luckily the wind was pushing it opposite of the wall face, so I was able to keep going. By the time I started with the character, it was pouring pretty good and my camera case was getting soaked so I fat capped the cloud and finished up. I’ll be returning to this spot to rock harder and bigger when there’s no rain. Props to Sleep..This spot is fresh.
Number 7 burning Daylight
I wanted to paint this day but ended up rushed for time since the hike into the spot took me longer than expected. If I took too long, I wouldn’t be able to get a flick of my piece, and I really didn’t feel like taking the hike again to the spot the next day just for flicks, so when I got there, I just slapped on a fat cap on a can of silver and banged this out in maybe a half hour or so. Came out pretty cool for what it is. The thing about painting fast is that since you don’t have time to make a lot adjustments to your initial sketch, it forces you to just go with whatever pops out at the time and run with it. Could be bad, or could be good, leading you to some sort of innovation, or maybe a little of both.
Bizare Fest for Number 6
I missed the Biz fest last year due to work and almost missed it this year but I wasn’t gonna let that happen this time. The Bizare Fest is an event put on by the late Bizare 68’s sister Serena to honor the memory of her brother, and bring everyone together for a good time at the park for a day of camaraderie and painting.
I Packed up and hit the road by 3 AM for the drive North and arrived at about 7:30, met up with the rest of the Lords Crew and we divided up our spots and started buffing. The fog was so thick, that the buff on the wall really didn’t really dry until after 10.
The event was dope and glad I made it out. I met Bizr’s Sister Serena and gave her the BizR tribute sketch for the Bizr tribute wall that Woem and I did in Raleigh NC. RIP Lord Bizr..
Number 5 Purple Rain
This one’s a recent favorite. It was done for a BBoy event. Daze Roc has a piece to the right and there’s also some video footage taken, that I’ll have to share once I get the flicks from Daze, so stay tuned for that footage. I like this spot because its visible from the main road, and should get a lot of exposure.
I really wasn’t sure how this color combo was going to come off, but i was liking it more as the day progressed. really hard to capture the colors on this wall as the shadows from trees make it difficult to get a good flick.
